Training for Monday, Nov. 9th will be ladders. Ladders are a big part of the fire service; they are our lifeline when we are above the ground floor, give us roof access to vent heat and toxic gases out of a building, help remove victims from the second floor, and so on. Obviously I don't have to tell you we need to know the ins-and-outs of ladders well. We will have a short classroom portion and then get to hands-on work with some ladder drills. This will be a great opportunity for those that are not yet interior firefighters to learn related fireground operations that can be utilized while you are finishing your interior training. It is important that ALL fire personnel become comfortable and competent in ladder operations, so please make every attempt to join us. Please review chapter 12 of your J&B book prior to class. Your instructors will be Lt. Doyle and Capt. St.Pierre.
